Times move on and we,
inevitably have to move with them. Industrial buildings, machinery, well-known
companies and even whole
industries disappear.
Where possible, we in the Leicestershire Industrial
History Society try to record buildings, processes and histories of local industries in photographs, film and
documentary form.
However, it is particularly annoying and disappointing when disused buildings are not renovated and re-purposed or even demolished. Such buildings are just left to rot and fall into dereliction with the inevitable
vandalism that usually
follows.
LIHS members have been out and about with their cameras trying to capture some of our industrial heritage before it disappears and also trying to draw attention to some of the neglect being suffered by some valuable landmarks.
